ok..changed from 7000 sandhills to 4777 seems like a lot more though.. 26,500 snow geese,,, 66,738 ducks, 259 canada geese, 3 eagles, 28 hawks & owls. Refuge looks beautiful...a bountiful winter home for our migrating sandhills, geese, ducks and more

Hello Friends & Visitors! Welcome to our Annual Festival of the Cranes at the Bosque del Apache NWR near Socorro, NM. The Festival welcomes many thousands of sandhill cranes who make the Refuge their winter home, and have come here for centuries. We'll try to give you a glimpse of the fun and excitement of over 100 events including, tours, classes, lectures, workshops and more at the Festival of the Cranes
Friends of the Bosque del Apache NWR web site is an extensive site with information on the Refuge, birding lists and information about the Friends and how you can join us!
The Friends of the Bosque exist to support the Refuge and protect this critical and beautiful habitat for the birds and wildlife who rely on it for their survival.
